‘We are a perfect team, the world of fitness and the world of chiropractors’ – Arnold Schwarzenegger
Recently we had the privilege to work on the most powerful back in the world, a record breaking back, a back belonging to the World’s Strongest Man – Eddie Hall, at the grand opening of the impressively equipped @theGym, Nailsea.
Personally, and professionally this was a real high point for me and it inspired me to write this article to share with you why it is that an estimated 90% of all professional athletes use Chiropractic care as an essential part of their training.
When functioning correctly, your body is constantly and appropriately adapting to the different stresses that various forms of training can place on it. However, there are limits as to what we can cope with. When you cross that line, the body’s adaptive processes start to falter and dysfunction can occur within your spine and nervous system.
Spinal health determines athletic success more than many people are aware. The simultaneous contraction of large muscle groups needed for not just exercising, but for general daily activities, requires nerve signal efficiency. For this you need a flexible and well aligned spine and body. Without a healthy spine and nervous system, effective adaptation to any kind of exercise cannot occur, which can not only reduce the functional benefits of your training, but also leave your body more susceptible to weakness and injury.
Sports professionals recognised this a long time ago and as a result, started enrolling Chiropractors into their teams. Research has shown that on average, Chiropractic care increases athletic performance by 17% so when an athlete knows and understands the difference it can make, they gladly have regular chiropractic care.
I hope this gives you an insight into how Chiropractic can benefit people working to make changes in their lives. So, what about you? Is your body functioning and performing as well as you would like? Do you have any goals you want to achieve physically and want an edge in your training? Why not call us, it could be the difference you need to take your health and performance to the next level.
